SVG Clipper Chrome extension, version 2.1.7 · Effective date: October 22, 2026

Summary

1. What the extension does

SVG Clipper finds SVG graphics on the web page you're viewing and lets you preview, copy, recolor, optimize and download them. All of that processing, including SVGO optimization, React/JSX conversion, recoloring and PNG/WEBP rendering, happens on your device, inside the extension.

2. Access to web pages

SVG Clipper has no standing access to the sites you visit. It uses Chrome's activeTab and scripting permissions, so it can only read a page after you act on it: by clicking the toolbar button, using a keyboard shortcut (such as Ctrl+Shift+S or Ctrl+Shift+D), or choosing an SVG Clipper item from the right-click menu. Only then does it run its script in that tab to find SVGs.

Some graphics are linked files, such as <img src="….svg"> or CSS backgrounds, rather than inline markup. To show and save those, the script requests the file from the site that hosts it, exactly as the page itself would, using your browser's normal session for that site. That request goes straight to that website, not to us.

3. Data stored on your device
